Savvas Dolopoulos

coachMr. Dolopoulos took his first basketball identity in Aris B.C in 1982 and in 1989 won the first championship as a child with the “yellows.” That same year, he acquired a new basketball I.D with the Basketball Club “Alexander the Great”. In 1990, he was the finalist of the local Cup EKASTH. In 1992, he wore the colors of the team named “Hephaestus” and three years later won the championship of the Third National Division. In 1999, he played for Maccabi Thessaloniki. Next year, he won the championship of the First Local League “EKASTH”. That same summer, he “moved” in “MAS AETOS” basketball team and the next year he celebrated the rise from the second local division to the first one.In 201, he climbed from C2 to C1 category with the team “Asteras Ippodromiou”, while the same year won the Veterans championship of Thessaloniki playing for the “Maccabees”.

In regards of his coaching career, in 1992, he worked for the first time in the basketball academy of Hephaestus, while from 2002 to 2007 continued to teach the “secrets” of basketball in relevant basketball sections of the team “SA Pilea”. At the same time, from 2004 to 2005, he coached the basketball club “MAS AETOS” which was playing for the first local division of Thessaloniki.. From 2007 till today, he is the coach of the men’s basketball team ” A.E. Pulaia”, which plays for the second local division of Thessaloniki.With this team, he celebrated the rise from C to B local division of Thessaloniki in 2012.In 2008, he coached with great success the teenage section of “MAS Mantoulidis”, reaching the second place in the National Junior Championship in Kymi, Evoia. A year later,he became the coach of the High-School Department of ” MAS Mantoulidis” . He won the first place in the National Junior Championship held in Kavala, while the next season he almost reached the apex, this time occupying the second position in the respective National Championship which took place in Kymi (2010). During the year of 2011-2012,he took the reins of Maccabi, in which he won the rise from the first local division to the third national league.

He graduated from the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. He is married and a father of four children.
